As sweet as very young children look (and they are sweet)
while marching down an aisle, they can
also be very unpredictable. That’s why
flower girls, ring bearers, and juniors,
are usually 4-10 years old. Kids younger
than that tend to baulk when entering
a large room full of strangers, and, depending
on the length of the ceremony, the child’s
temperament may get antsy. If you’re concerned
about the mother’s reaction, who desperately
wants you to include her small daughter
in your wedding, you could give her daughter
a small bouquet to hold for family portraits,
that way she’ll feel special and you’ll
have peace of mind.
